NOTICE FOR NATA-2017 It is brought to the notice of all concerned that National Aptitude Test in Architecture, 2017 (NATA-2017) for admission into 1st year of 5-year B.Arch. Degree course at various Institutions in India for the academic session 2017-2018 shall be conducted by the Council of Architecture (CoA) as one-day examination (paper based, OFFLINE) all over the country on 16.04.2017 (Sunday).

FAQs

COMPUTER BASED EXAMINATION AND CENTER ALLOCATION

Q1. In case a student fails to book his session for online examination after paying the fees, how will he know about the date and session of the examination? Answer 1. If a candidate does not make any selection, he/she shall be randomly assigned a slot/date as per the availability of the same as per page no.11 of information bulletin. Details of session and slot will be given on the admit card which can be downloaded from 1st March 2015. 

Q.2 There is no provision for students wishing to appear for both the exams at different centers i.e Paper -1 be Computer based and Paper -2 being Pen and Paper based Answer 2. Since Paper-2 is only in offline mode, a student who is appearing for both the papers , paper 1 being online mode and paper 2 being offline mode will only get such centers that have facility for both the modes of examination. For example: Test centers for this could be PATNA: PEN & PAPER BASED and COMPUTER BASED. Kindly refer to appendix 2 of information bulletin. Two different roll no and separate admit cards cannot be issued to a candidate to appear at different centres for paper 1 and 2 separately. ELIGIBILITY FOR APPEARING IN JEE(MAIN)-2015

Q.3 – What is the Eligibility for private candidates? Answer3. As per Page No 12: 2.9.2 - Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE), only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2013 or 2014; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2015 are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2015. Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2012 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2016 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)- 2015. Candidates who appeared in class 12th/equivalent Qualifying Examinations in 2012, did not pass in 2012, but passed in 2013 are also not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2015. This criteria is applicable for both private and regular candidates. Private candidate can fill ‘xxx’ against the school name column.

Q.4- What is Eligibility for Diploma Students in JEE-Main 2015? Answer 4. Yes, to appear in JEE (Advanced) a diploma holder can apply in JEE Main 2015 but his rank and score for JEE (Main) will not be declared as diploma holders cannot apply for admission in NITs and CFTIs through JEE (Main) channel. 

Q.5- Name of the boards recognized under Association of Indian Universities. Answer 5. Kindly visit the website www.aiuweb.org . 

Q.6- What are HSC vocational courses? Answer 6. Different states can have different HSC vocational courses, so students of different states will have to verify it from their particular state. ONLINE APPLICATION FORMAT 

Q.7- If a candidate has passed in 2013 and has appeared for improvement in 2014 and is again going for improvement in 2015, what he will fill in the academic details section. Answer 7.In this case, he/she will fill in as under: Year of Passing 12th / Qualifying Examination : 2013 Roll Number of either year: 2013/2014 (as per candidate’s wish) Percentage of same year as the roll number provided: 2013/2014 Appearing for Improvement of Class 12th/Qualifying Examination: YES Further it is clarified in the Information Bulletin at Page No .3 that the marks of Class 12th /equivalent qualifying examination will be displayed on the website of JEE (Main) during the second week of June 2015. The candidates will have to verify these marks and confirm on the website. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate should upload the copy of the mark-sheet online only latest by 25th June 2015 on JEE (Main) website. During this period i.e. after the declaration of result of qualifying examination, the candidate may update their request to consider the total marks of a mark-sheet having better marks out of the mark-sheet of passing year or improvement year.

Q.8- Which thumb impression should be used while filling JEE-Main 2015 form? Answer 8. As per Page No 16 of Information Bulletin, left hand thumb for boys and right hand thumb for girls have to be provided but in case wrong thumb impression is already uploaded, the candidates are required to apply same thumb impression on the attendance sheet during examination as provided in the online application. 

Q9- In case Photograph is not having name and date, would the form be rejected? Answer 9. Name of the candidate and date on which the photograph is taken is to be mentioned on the photograph, but in case uploaded photograph does not have name and date, the form will not be rejected and no correction is required in such a case.

Q.10- How will an NRI or a foreign student enter his/her mobile number? Answer 10. Such candidates can enter the mobile number against the field of landline number. CORRECTION 

Q11. Will a candidate have a choice to change the mode of examination? Answer 11. Yes, but a candidate can change mode of examination from pen and paper examination to computer based examination only. 

Q.12- What mistakes cannot be corrected during month of January 2015 when the corrections will be allowed by the Board? Answer 12- Change in examination center, mode of examination from computer based to pen and paper based and change in date of computer based examination will not be normally allowed. FEE TRANSACTIONS 

Q13- While paying the fee, what a candidate can do in case of failed transaction? Answer 13. If the payment status of online transaction (by credit/debit card) is not communicated by payment gateway in real time then fee payment is not completed. After reconciliation if the amount is found debited, the same will be processed at payment gateway for refund. Candidates are required to pay the fees again either through online transaction or by e- challan and to download the acknowledgement page . Your amount will be refunded back within 7 to 10 days. Use internet explorer 6 or above. MISCELLANEOUS 

Q14- Whether the Hindi Medium paper will come in both the languages? Answer 14. Yes, Hindi medium paper will be bilingual in English and Hindi medium. 

Q.15- What if a candidate has no thumb? Answer 16- He/She can upload impression of finger or foot thumb also and same should be applied on the attendance sheet during examination. 

Q.16- Why are there no sample papers for offline exams? Answer 16- The mock test available on website is for all the candidates who have opted either for pen and paper based mode or computer based mode. However it is also for practice purpose and to give candidates look and feel of the Computer Based Examination (CBE). Questions from the previous years are uploaded on JEE (Main) website. 

Admission criteria to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, Other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by participating State Governments, and other Institutions shall include the performance in the class 12/equivalent qualifying Examination and in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). The Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.) of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.

The States of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand and  Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State Level Examination, are also advised to fill in the JEE (Main) - 2016 application form online.

JEE 2013 (AIEEE) APPLICATION



JEE (Main) – 2013
In pursuance of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, Notification, the Joint Entrance Examination (Main)  - 2013 will be conducted by the JEE Apex Board for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions
etc.Now, AIEEE will be known as JEE (Main) and IIT - JEE as JEE (Advanced).

The admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by several participating State Governments, and several other Institutions shall include the performance in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). The JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.

For admission to NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) like IIITs etc. and other participating Institutions, the merit/rank list shall be prepared based on 40% weightage to school Boards marks in class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% weightage to JEE(Main). The weightage to school Board/Equivalent examination marks shall be considered only after normalization.

Mode of Examination
The Paper-1 (described below) of JEE (Main) will be conducted in two separate modes i.e. Offline (Pen and Paper Based Examination) mode and Online (Computer Based Examination) mode. The Paper-2 of JEE (Main) will be conducted only in Pen and Paper based examination mode. A candidate will opt for either Pen and Paper Based or Computer Based examination modes for Paper-1 only.

JEE (Main) – 2013 shall have two papers, Paper-1 and Paper-2




Online Registration for JEE(Main) 


In order to appear in JEE (Main) and/or JEE (Advanced) 2013, the candidates are required to apply only online.  The candidates are further advised  to visit the website before filling up the application form for ascertaining their eligibility for appearing in examination as well as for admission.

The  online registration form will be  available on JEE Main website from 8th November, 2012 to 15th December, 2012.

NIFT SITUATION TEST

All hopeful students have to appear for the situation test after their selection in GAT (General Ability Test) and (Creative Ability Test). This test plays a very important role in the final selection as it contains 20% of the total weight age. It comprises of 3-D model making exploiting the materials provided to them. The materials may include different kind of papers, thermocol, wire, string, ice cream sticks etc. A candidate has to create one or two 3-D model within the time limit of 2hrs to 2 and a ½ hrs. Each model must be accompanied by a caption and a write up of 50-100words.
You are judged on the basis of your aesthetic appeal, creative and clever manipulation of given materials and an appropriate theme. It is advisable to spend first 10-15minutes of the given time in thinking and drawing a rough sketch of your idea. Decide what is to be done first and what at last. Also carry some stationeries along with you like-pair of scissors, paper cutter, sharpened pencils, compass, fevicol with nosel, quick-fix, blue/black ball point pen, sand paper etc.
